Do Japanese people really short lick?

You know you cut your finger if you stick it in your mouth until you stop bleeding? In a couple of anime I've seen recently (Kodomo no Jikan and Kyou no Go no Ni), when the guys discount the fingers of his friend grabbed him and put in their mouths. Is it just a decorative element anime or does not happen in real life? Both times were made by a girl of 8 years old-ish if that makes a difference. I have said it is not healthy (oh **** AIDS). However, if I saw something like everyone says Itadakimasu before a meal, I will not assume "that only the units, because of course it is true. cuts seems Licking others outrageous (the different cultures do crazy things a lot) so it is natural to think that is possible.

No, and people know it is unhealthy to use a dressing (Bansoukou Japan) instead of licking. Children can lick their "own" the fingers in case of bleeding, but parents do not say. It does not happen in real life or at least very unlikely. I think the scene is often used to render care and affection in the drama and Japanese anime.
