Should I get a single or double cutaway guitar?

I'm getting an electric guitar soon and I want to know whether to get a single or double cutaway. Is there a difference in how they sound?

I'm a beginner so what is the best body material and shape. What type of fretboard I get and what bridge type?

Plus is it true that you should get an acoustic before an electric if this is the first time You Are playing guitar?

Most of what you are asking doesn't matter much if it's your first guitar. One thing you can ask yourself is "What guitar player's sound do I like the best?" Even though there's more to their sound than just the guitar, it's a decent starting point.

I wouldn't get too concerned with what kind of wood it's made out of. There is no "best", it's just a matter of what sounds good to you. Some like ash bodies, but some like alder or some like basswood. Some like maple fretboards, some like rosewood, some like ebony. That's just the more common woods. Until YOU play All Different types you won't really know what you like.

For a first guitar, it's "easier" to buy a guitar with a stoptail bridge, they are simple to use and maintain. But, if you like guitar players who go crazy with a whammy bar, then you'll want a floating trem like a Floyd Rose or something similar. Again, go with what your favorite idol has.

It doesn't matter whether you start with electric or acoustic, although acoustic would be cheaper because you don't have to buy an amp.
