Relocating to Salt Lake City for Climbing & Great Outdoors What Part of Town Should I Live In?

I need to be within about 30 minutes of the airport. We are also looking for a 2+ bedroom rental house (about $800/month budget) with a yard. Would like a private/quiet location if possible. Access to a park or outdoor/recreational area is a plus. We are not Mormons.

I would suggest the older part of Sandy or Midvale if you want to be about 30 minutes from the airport, for a quieter family atmosphere. The older section of Sandy would be say from 1700 East down to about State Street, no farther south than about 10000 South. Sandy has a huge range of incomes, so that is why I am being specific about addresses. You can also try north of Salt Lake City in Bountiful or Woods Cross or Layton or Kaysville or Syracuse, where the rent is probably going to be cheaper. Driving through Layton and Kaysville, I thought they seemed pretty quiet. If you're going for climbing and outdoor stuff, I assume you are planning trips to southern Utah, like Moab and Zions and St. George.
