Buying your first sewing machine

By Arin Rollins

The first point that needs to start a sewing machine To sew! Here are some tips to find the machine ideal start for you:

Start simple - You do not need all the bells and whistles in his first machine. I do not want to sit and read a manual on page 500 just to learn to thread the machine even before Sewing a point! Personally, I love Brother brand machines. They are an excellent starting model - the LS 2125i, for example. I had better luck Singer's brother comparable model. The model of the singer seemed to jam a lot and produces uneven stitching. Maybe you just had a lemon but when I bought another machine brother was very pleased with the quality for the price (only $ 89!)

Where can I get my first sewing machine? My suggestion is to go to Wal-Mart or Target. You can find a great machine for under $ 99. Please to go to a fabric store, but probably pay more. Wal-Mart usually has a section vessel that carries simple sewing.

What functions should be? Search one who has some basic capabilities and buttonhole. points include straight stitch, zig zag hem. etc. All machines are in control voltage and the length of brand point which can find more information on how to use your sewing machine. Remember, the simpler the machine, the simplest instructions, and the faster you get out and sew! Some machines have a lot of points that seem fun, but can be overwhelming for a beginner. These machines are ideal for more advanced seamstresses, but I would like to follow a simple machine to start. All projects are on my blog taken with my $ 89 machine from Wal-Mart!

Read the instructions - If you take my advice and bought a basic machine, flipping through the instruction book should take 15 minutes. It will give you instructions on how to thread the needle, wind the bobbin, and exercise all other functions of the machine. For example, if you want to try a zig zag, go to the page that says "zig zag" and wants the tension wire and recommended settings stitch length for best results.

So, get a sewing machine input and look great! For more articles on all things Sewing visit me. I guarantee that you will be inspired and find sewing projects you can do at home!
