The embroidered white cotton duvet, dirty years of use. How I can safely clean?

I have a cotton quilt white embroidery and after many years of use by my grandmother (who did) and my grandmother came to and I want to eliminate the gray-brown, it has assumed. It was washed in a regular washing machine numerous times, apparently, but I fear for my washing machine or use chlorine to bleach for fear of ruining the color of embroidery thread. I know that washing old quilts are not large, but is not a luxury patchwork quilt made for the show, which was designed to be used but it is still beautiful. Ideas?

He must be sure to wash like any other white cloth. So (not) bleach. Embroidery thread is dyed or should be.

Caring for your duvet

A quilt is something that will pass from one generation to another in a family and can be one of the most respected. That quilt is old or new, we want to be as careful as possible, and make sure it is in a state impeccable.

All blankets must be cleaned from time to time, wash a comforter in the washing machine is an excellent option. We have orders a delicate / gentle cycle and use a mild detergent and let the quilt, stirring for 2 minutes before soaking 10 minutes. The quilt is be disturbed again and we need to control a machine spin cycle to drain water from the quilt. We should not [**] continually wash down comforter to keep the level of the canvas.

After cleaning the quilt, we leave on napkins and wait twenty-four hours to dry the quilt. Quilts can also be washed by hand by placing in a bowl and clean with warm water and minimum amount of soap. The stains on the cover should be washed immediately with cool water and a clean, soft cloth nail white stain should be used if necessary. If we choose to show our coverage on the wall, then use a medium high quality quilt capable of supporting the weight of the quilt, or you may damage and breakage of fiber.

If we still have a folded blanket most of the time, then we have again as every two months to ensure that permanent crease lines and points of tension do not appear on the quilt. We must also bear a cool place, it is understood that the light from the sun to have a moderating effect of colors. If the carpet is stored in damp or wet, then the fiber may rot. Nordic should be stored in a place that is about 65-75F. Should we keep our quilts in places that lack proper ventilation. Never We also have a pile of blankets on top of each other as the tension builds in each quilt that gives lines have increased. Quilts must never be wrapped in plastic due to fumes may cause fabric upholstery fabric worse.

We have to remove the accumulated dust on the quilt of time another. We must strongly support the quilt, then shake the dust. We are able to vacuum also small sections of the quilt. We must Never dry clean our coverage, because the chemicals used in the process cause damage. Never eat, drink or smoke around the quilt. Do not heavy objects should be placed on it. If we mark our quilt, then we can write data on a piece of washed cotton or acid-free paper and place it on the quilt.

If the quilt fabric is well preserved and you think that these taxpayers, your quilt should last much longer and can be transmitted from generation to generation. .
